Is DNN good for SEO?

In our previous article we told you about our new DNN module SEO Urls and how important SEO is for every website.

But the question is: Is DotNetNuke good enough for search engine optimization? Many clients ask this question. And we always tell them YES. And here are the reasons.

1)DotNetNuke allows adding meta tags and meta description at every page of your website (every DNN page has its own page settings).
Meta tags and description are very important. In DNN you can define your most important and relevant keywords for every page.

Advice from our SEO Experts: Do not make blank or duplicate page titles and it is better if your page title is less than 70 characters and description contains about 160 characters.

2)  You can choose the URL of your website: www or non-www. Plus DNN allows setting up an implementation of 301 redirect.  If you change your URLs, you don’t loose any traffic.

Advice from our SEO Experts
: If you didn’t choose what website has priority (www or non-www), your website is split to two parts. That’s why we highly recommend you to set up a 301 redirect and to choose one priority site. These things will help you to increase your website’s search rank.

3) In DNN it is possible to change your SEO urls, make them pretty and SEO-friendly. But to implement this option you need to buy a third-party module.

Advice from our SEO Experts: Try to use some of your most important words from title in your URL. It will also help to increase your website’s search rank.

So, these features make DotNetNuke a good CMS for those who are planning to optimize their websites through search engine optimization and search marketing.

And what do you think about SEO advantages/disadvantages in DNN?
