The History of Django

Django is a free framework for web-applications written in the Python programming language. It was initially developed to manage news sites Lawrence.com, LJWorld.com (Lawrence Journal World), KUsports.com. These websites belong to The World Company (Kansas, USA). The framework was named after Django Reinhardt, famous jazz guitarist and composer from Belgium. Django is maintained by the Django Software Foundation since July 2008.
